Ding Ding Ding, the dancing doll

Ding Ding Ding…
Opened the music box!
A porcelain figurine hid behind the lid.
She was beautiful.
She had the figure.
She danced the most beautiful song.
But she was unhappy.

Ding Ding Ding…
As the music rang,
The porcelain figurine tiptoed
And she leaped to dance,
Of the music that drove her heart.

Long Long Face…
The porcelain figurine was sad.
She twisted her lips,
Frowning her brows.
She wanted to leave the music box.

Dream! Dream! Dream!
Her wish was heard by the fairy.
“You can leave the music box,
And become a human.
But you cannot dance again,
Else your steps will lead you back
To the music box you hate.”
The porcelain figurine promised
She would not dance again.

Zing! Zing! Zing!
Sang her heart!
Her cold porcelain skin turned,
Filled with living warmth.
Her small little body turned
Into a full grown lady of grace.

Zing! Zing! Zing!
Her heart took flight,
As the feather light.
She loved her life as a human.
Soon she met her love and married.
They built a merry tiny home of four.

Tik! Tik! Tok!
Time flies as the clock sings,
And we all lose count of the days.
Soon her hair stained silver,
Her children grew and left her.
Her skin wrinkled.
Her joints rusted.

Sigh Sigh Sigh…
Somehow she missed the music,
Somehow she missed the dance.
She opened the music box again,
And the music began to cry in her hands.

Ding! Ding! Ding!

She tiptoed and turned.

She nearly broke her bone.
But she tried harder,
And it got easier.
She waved her arms.
She turned on her pivots.
Her flesh started to chill.
Her blood started to stop.
Soon her body shrank,
And her skin turned hard.

Ding Ding Ding…
Open the music box!
A porcelain figurine hid behind the lid.
She was beautiful.
She had the figure.
She danced the most beautiful song.
And she was happy.
